The field station where we are staying - Estação de Biologia Marinha - is really great, and its not only because of the view. We can work, cook, eat and sleep all in the same building. We have access to the internet, TV, do our laundry and the beach is only 30s away (had we the any free time to enjoy it). We are definitely very lucky to use it.

and now its back to work, unpack everything and setting up the lab

Our arrival at Funchal provided us with our first challenge: how in the hell are we going to fit all the lab equipment into a small Fiat Punto!?
























At first it looked like an impossible mission but in the end we did it!



I guess we can thank all those years we spent playing tetris :)

It was raining when we landed!
The car was also bit smaller than what we had in mind, but it will have to do. Lets hope we can get our 18 boxes in.
